North Carolina ABC Permit - Alcohol Certification Class

We are in an age of more and more government and State regulations.  The liquor industry is one of the most regulated of all.  A professional mixologist must be familiar with and be able to operate within all regulatory agencies.

Students at the Professional Bartending Institute of Greensboro receive alcohol seller/server training that is approved by the NC Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission in Raleigh, NC.  Our program is taught in conjunction with the copyrighted PBSA textbook and the NC ABC Retail Guide.

Our training is in accordance with the Proof of Training required effective January, 2008 by the NC ABC Commission as a normal part of our 40-hour program.

The North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission now requires applicants for temporary retail ABC permits to provide proof of Responsible Alcohol Seller/Server training PRIOR to obtaining a temporary ABC permit. Their website states: “The applicant will be required to provide proof of training. Acceptable proof of training may be in the form of a certificate of training, transcript or other document provided by the course provider or corporate permittee.”

In addition, the NC ABC Commission also states on their website: “Businesses are encouraged to provide Alcohol Seller/Server training to their employees to prevent underage sales and irresponsible service to adults.”

In accordance with this, our Alcohol Seller/Server training is also available as a 4-hour class to individuals not enrolled in the full 40-hour program who need Proof of Alcohol Seller/Server Training to apply for NC ABC permits. Please call us a 336-294-9550 for class schedules and availability.

Upon successful completion of this class, the Professional Bartending Institute Certificate of Completion in Responsible Alcohol Service will be issued.
